We support professionals working with parents with learning difficulties and learning disabilities and their children through: A UK-wide Network for professionals sharing positive practice Working at policy level. We have a national taskforce. A parents’ network co-ordinated by CHANGE. There are country specific programmes of work in Scotland and Wales. The network is supported by a wide range of organisations including: Norah Fry Research Centre CHANGE Family Action Scottish Consortium for Learning Disabilities Learning Disability Wales. Promoting the welfare of the children of parents with learning difficulties is paramount to all organisations and individuals within the Working Together with Parents network. Note: We use the term parents with learning difficulties to describe the adults supported by our members. We recognise that the term adults with learning disabilities is often used to describe this group, particularly within the statutory framework, and is the term used in the Good Practice Guidance on working with parents with a learning disability. The Working Together with Parents Network is funded by the Baring Foundation and the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation.
